Skincare company, Pure Thoughts have harnessed an incredible collection of natural ingredients including clay, fruit, honey and pure essential oils to create a range of gentle and effective natural handmade soaps and skincare. Each product is designed to help keep skin healthy and looking it’s best and as they’re made from natural ingredients they are free from chemical nasties.

Background

Before using cocktail pr Pure Thoughts handled PR in-house and had written and sent a few press releases which did result in press coverage. However, as a small business it was difficult to dedicate regular time to PR activities on top of making products and running the business. So, after trying to go it alone for a year or two  Pure Thoughts realised that to achieve success in PR you need the help of a professional - someone who knows what they’re doing and has the right skills and contacts. cocktail pr was chosen to handle Pure Thoughts PR because it was clear that Louise loves what she does and has a professional yet enthusiastic approach to PR.

Objectives

To raise the brand awareness of the Pure Thoughts range of natural handmade soaps and skincare by achieving regular press mentions.

Strategy

Working closely with Pure Thoughts, a wish list of magazines that the brand would like to be seen in was compiled and included women’s titles, health magazines and the weekend supplements. With this established cocktail pr spoke with consumer press beauty desks introducing the brand to journalists, especially those with an interest in natural and organic beauty and started to build strong relationships.

cocktail pr now speaks regularly with key contacts updating them on new development at Pure Thoughts, identifying products that would fit into story themes and giving information when needed to secure quality placements.

Results/Evaluation

Over the past two years cocktail pr has secured coverage for Pure Thoughts month in and month out with an average of two pieces published monthly. This has been in varying publications from Glamour to Runners World and the Daily Mirror.
